In this module, students explore Microsoft PowerPoint and computer-based presentations. Students begin by using PowerPoint to create a presentation on job search skills and techniques. They incorporate text, clip art, and sound into the presentation, and upon completing their project, present it to a live audience. In later activities, students practice adding transitions to slides and special effects to text and graphics. They also build presentations that include speaker’s notes, video segments, narration, and hyperlinked text and graphics. The activities in this module not only teach students how to add multimedia to PowerPoint but also how each media can best be utilized within a presentation. The curriculum will accommodate 7-, 10-, or 15-day class rotations.
