Its ergonomics were dictated by the demands of cooperative learning. Its ample dimensions make students of all sizes comfortable throughout the day. The Intuit Chair is the latest expression of furniture that contributes to a healthy, effective learning environment. It combines the durability and functionality you’d expect from a Smith System chair, together with a surprising sense of joy. The Intuit Chair now better matches the sizes of students. A 15" chair, for K-5 students, has a smaller shell, as does the 17.5" for middle schoolers. Our larger shell for the 18" chair is designed for high school students and adults. The shell is made from virgin polypropylene with color throughout and a distinct texture to prevent slipping. The free flowing design of the Intuit comes from the innovative use of Gas Injection Technology. The integrated handle eases classroom positioning. The frame is constructed from 16-gauge 7/8" diameter steel tube, protected by a durable powder coat finish, and is MIG-welded for maximum strength. The tubular frame supports the perimeter of the shell and incorporates a reinforcing crossbar for added strength. The shell is anchored securely to the frame through four 11-gauge die formed brackets, not rivets. The leg tubes accept our legendary outside hold glides. The deep ferrule glide stem has a spring steel liner with lancing for positive grip to leg tube. Each leg has a swivel-tilt rubber cushioned glide made of hardened steel with a nylon base. Frame is platinum. Shell is available in black, blueberry, burgundy, clementine, forest green, mint, navy, purple or red.
