Students learn the ABC’s of DTP (Desktop Publishing) with this fun and educational module. Using the popular Adobe PageMaker software application, they learn how to create page designs, integrate text and graphics, edit copy, manipulate graphics, add design elements, and prepare a publication for production. They actually create a newsletter from scratch—creating the masthead, writing and inserting all the copy, and selecting and placing the graphics. Students
also develop a business image by creating a business card, letterhead, envelope, and newspaper advertisement. Throughout this module, students are challenged to think creatively and explore the needs of their audience and the implications of their design choices. This curriculum will accommodate 7-, 10-, or 15-day class rotations.
