The full-featured design software enables
students to view 3D walkthroughs of their
completed home interior.
Students work with an easy-to-use, yet powerful
design package to design a home from the ground
up. They review the basics of home design and
then get to work designing a home to meet a
selected client’s needs. As they work, students
learn how to draw walls and add doors,
windows, and a roof. They learn about
requirements and recommendations
for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
systems, and then add these
components to their design. The software
enables students to choose wall and floor coverings,
furniture, and exterior siding. Once they complete their
design, students use a printer and foam board to produce a
3D model of their home. This curriculum will accommodate
7-, 10-, or 15-day class rotations.
Student Objectives
