RobotARM software simulates the control of a robotic arm in a macro-world. With this program, everything happens on screen, which means that there’s no need for any hardware. Students can learn basic principles of robotics as they write programs to control the arm to move around the screen, pick up beepers and place them in a tray. Each of the robotic arm’s stepper motors can be programmatically controlled, enabling precise positioning of the arm on the screen. Programs contain primitive commands, such as TURN WRIST Cw 1in. and OPEN FINGERS 2. in. The robotic arm incorporates sensors, which enables feedback to be used in programs. Decision-making IF statements and loops with the REPEAT and WHILE commands can be used in programs.
