Residential Wall Classroom Kit

|
This affordable classroom kit introduces students to the basics of residential house frame construction. Students learn and apply measuring, drafting and design skills as they draw and build two 3/4"-scale walls to create the corner of a house. One wall will contain a door rough opening, and the second wall will contain a window rough opening. In the process, students learn about basic framing members, including studs, headers, sole plates, top plates, trimmers and cripple boards. They also learn about building codes and rough out dimensions, and gain experience working with scale measurements.
The Residential Wall Kit includes a Teacher’s Guide, 15 sets of Student Instructions, a pack of 11" x 17" cross-section paper, 100 strips of 1/8" x 1/4" balsa, 20 strips of 1/8" x 3/8" balsa, 15 bottles of glue and 15 corrugated cardboard bases—enough supplies for 15 student teams of 2.
Note: Kit requires additional materials not supplied.
